COMMUNICATION!

2. Basecamp

Basecamp is an awesome online platform for communication and project management. We’ll be using this to send messages, share files and track progress during the process. This will help alleviate content and images being lost in long email threads. Everyone loves email threads…right?! (Don’t worry you can still use your email. The messages will post directly to basecamp!) Once your project is underway, you’ll receive an email to set up your basecamp profile and we’ll be off and running!

What will be shared in Basecamp? 

Important Project Dates. Every single date in regards to your project will be in Basecamp.

– Project Details.  All of the details in regards to your projects will be here in the “Messages” section. 

– Project Objective. You will know every single objective in your project in Basecamp. 

– Team Communication.You will get all of our communication in Basecamp. 

3. Google Drive 

Dropbox is a great online image/file sharing platform. This isn’t necessary for every project, but if you have more than 15-20 images for your website or if they’re too big to send through email or post on basecamp, we can use dropbox. We can also use this to share important logins and credentials instead of sending through email. I will set up a folder for the project and will share the folder with you via email. You can upload all images and files there.

4. THE DESIGN PROCESS

Designing a website, no matter how big or small, is an extensive process that can be overwhelming. To better help you understand what to expect during the design and development, I’ve outlined my process into 3 steps:

1) LAYOUT AND DESIGN

A large and time consuming part of designing a website is in the planning and layout stage of the process. I’ll create the sitemap (Page/Menu hierarchy) of the website for approval first, then I’ll design the home page and a sub page (or more upon request) for approval.

2) DEVELOPMENT

Once the site layout and design is approved, I’ll move forward with the designing the entire site, pages and add all functionality and plugins. We’ll make sure your site looks great and functions nicely across all devices and web browsers before moving to the final step.

3) EDITS & REVISIONS

Once the site is ready for final review, you’ll be able to review each page and we can make detailed edits until the site is revised completely. We ask that you please review ALL pages to make sure all spelling, grammar, addresses and information are correct before going live.

Important Timeline Information

Websites take time! That is why we have this handy dandy timeline! Please note: We can expedite the process for and expedite fee of $997

Kick-off Call – this call will get the party (or your project, we look at it as a party 😉 started! 

Initial Mock-Up: 2 WEEKS after Kick-Off you will receive the initial mock up!

Client Edits Round 1:  1 WEEK after initial mock-up is delivered this will be due from you!

Monaghan Media Group 1st round Revisions: 1 WEEK after your edits are due this will be given back to you from us!

 Client Edits Round 2: 1 WEEK after 1st round of revisions is delivered this will be due from you! 

Monaghan Media Group Revisions Round 2: 1 WEEK after your edits are due this will be given back to you from us! 

Final Edits and Go-Live This will be 1 week after your 2nd round of revisions is given to us and your site will go live! 

IT’S UP AND WE ARE EXCITED!

5) WRAPPING UP & GOING LIVE!

Once the site is ready to go live, all unnecessary plugins, pages, images and backend files will be removed. The new site will be backed up and saved locally, should it ever need restored. Once live, it may take between 24-48 hours for the new site to pull up on some devices. Some computers will need to be refreshed in order to see the new site, though most computers will see the new site immediately depending on the wifi connection and where they are in relation to the location of server that the website is on.

Your website logins and all credentials will be sent to you via basecamp or secure email insuring the security of your passwords. Though your logins and passwords will be saved by me locally, PLEASE SAVE ALL LOGINS FOR YOUR RECORDS AS WELL. Upon completion, you’ll receive a link to my “moving forward” page where you’ll receive tips and tricks on what to do with your new website and also information on our Maintenance/Security Plan which I highly recommend for all my clients.

What Make’s Projects Difficult! (We Don’t Like This Part Either!) 

Lack Of Content – If you don’t have content THAT IS OKAY! We can use stock images, as well as some imagery that we have. Just know that this makes the vision of your website take a little longer to capture.

Revisions Reply – One of the things that we have seen make a project that longer than we forcast is if revisions take a long time to come back to us. We generally say it takes 4-5 business days for edits to be finished.

Lack Of Communication – Be sure you are in Basecamp and communicating with the team! We want your site to go live ASAP so be sure to stay up to date on all of the progress of the project!

Not Getting Our Essentials – The essentials are how we start this project, make sure you submit all of your essentials mentioned above to get the project started!

Not Scheduling A Kick Off Call – Our project starts shortly after the kick off call, make sure you schedule it right away!

Questionnaire Not Filled Out thoroughly – The better you fill out the questionnaire, the better we can match our vision with yours!

All communication as soon as the project starts will be done in Basecamp! This way we can all be on the same page and know exactly were we are in a project!

We are available Monday-Friday 7am-4pm MT, in those hours we will be able to get back to you within 12 business hours!
